Vintage Christmas Trends 2016
We, at the Vintage Garage are seeing awesome vintage Christmas trends for 2016. Mid-century holiday is still going strong. Popular decorating items for this season are mostly from the 1950's through the 1970's. We are excited to announce our 2nd Vintage Garage Holiday Market coming November 20 at the Garage. It will be a one day event, rain, shine or snow. Featuring 100 vendors vintage holiday decorations and goods along with a variety of vintage from all categories. I promise, you'll find the most unique gifts, for yourself or someone you care about. This was one of our biggest shows last year and we are excited to do it again! Dress warm.
On to the Vintage Garage Holiday trends- here we go--
Vintage Cookie Tins
The vintage graphics make these so fun. Stacks of them look great together. Also great for storing those precious vintage ornaments in the off season. Nice and sturdy. Look for great condition, no dings or dents.
Vintage Holiday Candles
Gurley candles are a staple every year. Their adorable angels, deer, trees. are perfect vintage decor. I picked up this great giant gingerbread man over the summer. He's a rare one.
1960's ornaments and figures decorated in glitter! The cuter and sparkly the better. These cuties are midcentury era, Made in Japan.
In packs or alone. Snowmen are back. Frosty the Snowman started as a song in 1950. A short film in 1954 by WGN in Chicago and then a TV special in 1969. Many decorative holiday snowmen are not Frosty himself but many also are.
Vintage Christmas Greeting Cards
I'm always on the look out for used or unused vintage Holiday cards. The graphics are so cool and it brings you back to a time where the paper for the cards was substantial and they were made with care. Used cards are perfect for framing or decoration. Unused perfect for giving! I have a tough time actually signing it. I usually use a post-it for a message inside so I don't mess it up. 🙂
